Post Surgery
The Savvy PT can provide post-surgical care and rehab for any orthopedic surgery.
We understand that most people will opt to use their insurance for this type of physical therapy as it is a cheaper option. This makes sense because the deductible is usually met after surgery and the PT becomes free.
However, there are reasons that someone might choose an out-of-network clinic for their rehab.
Reasons to choose The Savvy PT after surgery.
Traditional clinics can feel impersonal and like you’re a number rather than a person.
Difficulty scheduling with extremely busy clinics.
Feel like you’re wasting time “warming up” or waiting for staff to rotate between you and their other clients.
Short appointment times leave you feeling like you’re not able to get everything done and feeling like you’re not progressing.
You have run out of your approved number of visits by insurance.
Your surgeon won’t write more prescriptions and says that you’re healed even if you don’t feel back to normal yet.
Three ways The Savvy PT can help after surgery
1. Primary Physical Therapist
Some people want to skip the in-network clinic because they’ve been through it before, going to a high volume clinic with little interaction with your PT, working with Aides, and using half the time “warming up” on the bike.
The Savvy PT will act as your primary therapist and take you from day 1 post-surgery all the way to return to full function.
We will follow your surgeon’s protocols and keep regular communication with them as needed.
I sell visit packages to help ease the cost of this high-volume situation.
2. Supplement your other Physical Therapy
If you can’t get in to start therapy quickly enough after your surgery or you are only able to go once a week then you might want to supplement your in-network rehab with The Savvy PT.
Two common scenarios for this are;
You were referred to an in-network clinic but they are so busy that you can’t get started for a few weeks.
Early access to therapy is important for your best recovery. You shouldn’t wait to begin just because the clinic isn’t ready for you.
You have started therapy but they only allow you to come in once or twice a week and you feel you aren’t getting enough of what you need.
3. After your in-network PT is completed, but you’re not feeling 100%
This is a common situation. You’ve run out of approved visits, your surgeon thinks you are healed, or you’re just not happy with the progress you’ve made so far.
Most of my post-surgical clients had their surgery several months before seeing me and have been through their covered PT but aren’t feeling back to normal or are still having significant pain.
This is very common and it is not too late! Call now to discuss your situation.
